Eye-Tracking Usability Research

PAYPAL

Israeli Online Shopping Experience

Prior to its entry into the Israeli market, PayPal decided to perform several usability tests in Israel.

Based on the research and analysis, PayPal made decisions on how to proceed.

In collaboration with their US team, I was responsible for all research and analysis. Eye-Tracking technology was integral to the research.

Eye-Tracking

Eye-Tracking technology makes it possible for computers to know where users are looking on the screen. I use this technology in my usability studies to improve my understanding of the users and evaluate the efficacy of my design.

I have a extensive experience in usability testing with the unique Eye-Tracking technology.

Test Day

The study focused on Israeli users. The study was done under laboratory conditions. After completing each participant's eye-tracking, I conducted a retrospective think-aloud interview that contributed greatly to the final data analysis.

The primary goal was to understand the differences between RTL and LTR interfaces.

The secondary goal was to learn about the online shopping experience using leading e-commerce sites in Israel.

Report and Recommendations

After analyzing the test results, I submitted my recommendations to PayPal.

This test was the first in a series of tests that determined PayPal's operational procedure with regard to the RTL language market.
